Healing Surge Recovery

Fatigued and bruised from the previous day the party of brave adventurers continued the search.

An extended rest in dangerous surroundings restores your Con bonus +1 healing surges (minimum 1). Environmental conditions (an inn, stormy sea, desert, etc) may further affect your recovery of healing surges.


Death Saves

Near death experiences are more difficult to recover from.

If you fail a Death Save you also lose a healing surge.


Standing up

Sometimes you just need to get the hell out of there!

Standing up is a move action. Optionally a character can stand up as a minor action and provoke opportunity attacks to any adjacent enemies.


Rituals and Material Components

Complex spells require skill, stamina, dedication, concentration, precision and flair.

You can reduce the material cost of casting a ritual by expending healing surges.
• 1 healing surge – 25% reduction
• 2 healing surge – 50% reduction
• 3 healing surge – 75% reduction
Components and focuses which are not expended during the casting of the ritual are still required.


Casting a Ritual in Combat

Complex spells require skill, stamina, dedication, concentration, precision and flair.

Any ritual with a casting time of 10 minutes or less can be cast as a full round action (that’s a Standard + Move action) at full material cost plus one healing surge.


Nine Point Alignments

Players can optionally use the nine point alignment system.
